A most beautiful new Facett wrap that we were pleased to weave according to the special wishes of our Japanese friends and babywearers, who submitted their colour suggestions in a nationwide contest. The winning design, chosen by the overwhelming majority of the participants, draws its inspiration from one of the traditional colour schemes used for robes once worn at the Japanese court. The name Shobu stands for early summer colours and so perfectly suits this gorgeous combination of red, iris green, emerald green, white and pink alternating in the warp and interweaving with bleached white weft yarns.
Differently coloured edges give orientation to a beginner and they inspire to tie the wrap in different ways to create changing colour impressions
The nature of the Facett weave adds depth to the surface and creates a slightly grippy fabric texture that holds knots firmly in place.
Though lightweight, the fabric is densely woven and supportive featuring a perfect diagonal stretch that is characteristic to all Didymos wraps and that makes it comfortable to handle and to tie. Once tied, carries stay in place and a newborn can cuddle up against mom or dad for hours whereas an older child will find enough support to enjoy a safe ride on your hip or back.
